When I read a book about spiritual temperaments years ago, one temperament I scored lowest in was Naturalist. At that time, spending time in nature was simply not a way that I felt particularly connected to God.
Given that assessment, it seems a little crazy that I now run a natural health business for which I teach natural wellness classes and assist people in reaching goals using natural wellness options. I’ve come to appreciate God’s creation down to its cellular level and marvel at the ways the life force with which God infused plants can dramatically impact my health, and those around me, in mind, body, and spirit.
To think that I now enjoy researching the power of chemical constituents of a plant’s essential oil, such as sesquiterpenes and beta-caryophyllene, blows my mind a little. When I learn about the impact these constituents have on the human body and apply the essential oils that contain them to my body, it connects me in a unique way to my Creator. Being privilege to the testimonies of the wellness my team members experience is inspiring.
When my research spurs me on to the area of brain function, the healing of memories, and the ways in which God’s creation of essential oils can play a part in the health of those areas, I feel like I am in in sacred space.
And that is what I have become passionate about sharing with others.
One simple way I get to do that is to gift people with natural goodies that nourish their bodies. For this week’s Meet Me in the Middle Before & After, I offer you some simple, yet fun and effective gifts. From God’s creation to blessings others with health and wellness: bath salts and lip balm.
Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing.” –Ezekiel 47:12
