You’re reading a God-sized dream post. Each Tuesday, a team of God-sized dreamers write on the progress of their dreams, spurred by the wisdom in Holley Gerth’s new book, You’re Made for a God-Sized Dream: Opening the Door to All God Has for You. This week’s question is: What brings you joy? To read all posts in the God-Sized Dream Series, please click here.

The true, good, and beautiful.
That’s what brings me joy.
When I was in college, my dad cut the above quote out of our hometown church paper and gave it to me. Now it adorns my inspiration dream wall, in a jeweled purple frame:
Art is beauty made visible.
And I am made in the image of a Creator God.
When beauty and creation collide, it results in all manner of joy.
That moment when liquid color kisses blank canvas is like a light switch for me.
Hook to baby soft yarn…
Adhesive to delicate papers…
Fingertips to keyboard…
Even piped butter cream to red velvet cupcake…
From elements to a beautiful whole.
Utilizing the gifts entrusted to me by my God.
That’s when I feel joy.
When I feel close to my Creator.
And it works the other way too.
When I witness others flourishing in their God-given talents…
Like this mail from Rachael, my dreamer friend from Australia.
Who has a serious gift for encouragement.
This postcard + inserts arrived on God-time. With His words spoken right to my heart.
You are my joy.
I smile big every time I see your words in the comments, with your beautiful, smiling faces next to them.
When you leave a little bit of your heart there, and we share a conversation.
When you sacrifice a portion of your valuable time to read here.
Thank you for that.
I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. –John 15:11
