Heart Verse

“I will remember the deeds of the Lord;

yes, I will remember Your wonders of old.

I will ponder all Your work,

and meditate on Your mighty deeds.”

–Psalm 77:11

Stress. Anxiety. Discouragement. Exhaustion. Fear. Grief.

The list of emotions and circumstances that can overwhelm is extensive and powerful.

Maybe someone lashes out at you.

Or you’re struggling to make ends meet.

Perhaps your child is in a “phase”.

Or all of the above.

Those realities grip tightly.

It can be crushing….

Unless.

You compile evidence.

Make the phrase “God is faithful” concrete.

Because He is, and when you see it in black and white, it makes all the difference.

Write them down, those times God “came through” for you.

When He gave you the courage to make a hard decision…

When you survived the hard decision…

When He brought a precious friend into your life…

When He made the ends meet….

When He got you to Allume (OK, that’s mine, but that’s big time faithful!)

When someone close to you comes back to the Lord…

When He gave you a solution to your child’s problem…

When you have a breakthrough…

When you are so happy you could burst…

Make a list and post it.

Let Him remind you that He will never fail you.

That He is bigger than anything you’re facing.

He’s proven it before, and He will continue to.

Because He loves you!

Heart Questions

  1. Do you ever feel like God is letting you down? In what situations?
  2. Can you think of times when God came through for you?
  3. Can you pick one time when God showed His faithfulness and use it when you are tempted to despair or give up?

Heart Prayer

Heaven Father, I praise You for Your flawless faithfulness. When we are weak, then You are strong. How quickly defeat threatens us. Remind us of Your love and provision. Let us rest secure in Your care. Keep us close that we may hear You, see You, know You. I ask this in the precious name of Jesus, Your Son. Amen.

Heart Notes

I Lift My Hands

by Chris Tomlin

Be still, there is a healer
His love is deeper than the sea
His mercy, it is unfailing
His arms are fortress for the weakLet faith arise
Let faith arise

I lift my hands to believe again
You are my refuge, You are my strength
As I pour out my heart
These things, I remember
You are faithful, God, forever

Be still, there is a river
That flows from Calvary’s tree
A fountain for the thirsty
Pure grace that washes over me

Let faith arise
Let faith arise

I lift my hands to believe again
You are my refuge, You are my strength
As I pour out my heart
These things, I remember
You are faithful, God, forever

I lift my hands to believe again
You are my refuge, You are my strength
As I pour out my heart
These things, I remember
You are faithful, God, forever

Let faith arise, let faith arise
Open my eyes, open my eyes
Let faith arise, let faith arise
Open my eyes, open my eyes

I lift my hands to believe again
You are my refuge, You are my strength
As I pour out my heart
These things, I remember
You are faithful, God, forever

And I lift my hands to believe again
You are my refuge, You are my strength
As I pour out my heart
These things, I remember
You are faithful, God
You are faithful, God, forever

Let faith arise
Let faith arise

Shalom!
